Spring Break's Over

Back to school tomorrow, sigh. I didn't get much done over the break, I had grandiose plans of cleaning and organizing. I did make a trip to the goodwill and the recycling center but we still have a lot of stuff to go through especially in the basement.

Today we have to work in the backyard. Having a dog can be a hassle, Sally likes to have her friend over for play dates but her friend is a digger. Two weeks ago, both dogs escaped from our yard prompting a passive-aggressive note from the neighbor who returned them. The note began "Dear parents" which took me a minute to realize the author meant "dog parents." Then went on to say, in part, "I hope they stay in this time." So we have to check the entire fence and replace some boards and fill in the holes near the fence with bricks and dirt. Fun, fun, fun.

I can only imagine the ways Sahale will find to get out when we finally have a fence...

We had a dog that would not only dig out but then go down to the hardware store, step on the weight-sensitive pad that automatically opened the door and then go in to visit the staff and customers. They were always very nice about it and would just call us to come get him. But man, the destruction he did to the yard! Seemed no matter how hard we tried to keep him in, he'd get out. We eventually had to bury chicken wire next to the entire perimeter of the fence. That finally worked. Hope the yard/fence repair is quick and easy.

Once a digger, always a digger. Hopefully she won't become a jumper too. Reasons I don't want another dog!
