This weekend a couple of friends and I are going to Oklahoma City for the Memorial Marathon (Relay). I'm running the first 10K then handing the timing chip off to rkyarns. In 2007, I ran the half-marathon at this race and it was amazing.

I will be running at 6:30am on Sunday so send me fast vibes.

Gudonya Too

My friend introduced me to the Gudonya etsy shop at Christmas with a gift of whipped shave cream. The smell is amazing and it really protects from razor burn. My favorite scent is Tahitian Vanilla-it's so sweet just like Sweet Tarts.

I have been happy with everything that I have ordered from this shop. But my all time favorite thing is the sMOOchy skin bar. This is the instructions from the website:

"Here's how it works.... You take a bath or shower as usual. When you're ready to step out, don't. Just step back out of the water. Rub your sMOOchy all over yourself, then rinse with water only. It is true, I don't even use lotion on my body after using the bar and the scent is heavenly.

BeautiControl

I had a few friends over yesterday afternoon for a BeautiControl party. There were no mud masks like last time, but there was yummy food, make-up, and knitting.

Volleyball

S's volleyball team is having a great season, they are undefeated. S is developing great skills and her servers are fabulous.

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Sunday was rainy and wet so we decided to delay the egg hunt. Yesterday we went to a friend's house and had a big egg hunt. The eggs were filled with candy, stickers, tattoos, and MONEY!

Mommy and me

For those of you who haven't seen it, I chopped 8.5 inches off my hair. Now I have to blow dry and straight irons it but I think it looks cute. In a couple of weeks, when I go in for a trim I might have her take it to a pixie which would require less work.

When I look at this picture I can see the a lot of my features in S's face. I think the lower half of are faces are very similar. The chin, cheeks and smile especially.

The BIG 3-1

Here's a little sample of the wonderful gifts I received for my birthday. There are many things that are not pictures because they are already being put to good use-such as cute socks from Lia and a great headband from Shelly. Thanks to everyone who has texted, e-mailed, or "raveled" me a happy birthday. My friends are the best.

Big D got me a Canon Rebel xs for my birthday. Hopeful this will increase the number and quality of my blog picture posts.

Zoo Sheep Shearing Demo

Saturday morning, the kids and I went to the Easter Eggstravaganza at the zoo. It was a beautiful day and we spent 2 hours walking around. The kids got candy and saw the Easter Bunny. They didn't have an egg hunt but the some of the animals got Easter treats while we were there.

The highlight for me was seeing the sheep shearing demo. The entire flock was being sheared, weighted and given shots. The guy was very fast with the clippers and the sheep didn't seems too distressed about the situation.

Weaving

Over the past couple of months I have been toying with idea of getting a Rigid Heddle Loom. I even tried one out on our last trip to Lawrence. But I have resisted.

Then this week, two things happened. First, I got the new issue of Living Crafts and they had a wonderful article about weaving with kids. Second, I found a well built kid's loom kit at a book fair.

On the left is my first attempt. I think this loom is enough for me right now but I think a Rigid Heddle might be on my Christmas list.
